PETS SEPARATION AND ANXIETY !

Loneliness, depression, miss? Do dogs feel it?
"I have a Maltese named Kika, she's beautiful, a sweet but not stand to be alone. Panics only see me picking up the bag or key. What can I do to help her?".
Given this situation, many dislike the owner secondary factors, such as constant barking, destruction, urine and feces in places undue licking the feet with no physical cause, among others. The most serious is that this dog may be developing a behavioral disease called "Separation Anxiety", which should be treated as urgently as possible.
What is "Separation Anxiety"?
It is a very common emotional illness in dogs and occurs mainly by non-acceptance of the situation of loneliness. The main symptoms are:
- Destructive behaviors: chewing furniture, destroying objects, furniture, walls, doors and windows of the owners;
- Excessive licking of the paws;
- Depression, nostalgia, sadness, lack of appetite and lethargy;
- Constant Barking, howling and crying, which so upset the neighbors;
- Urinating and defecating in places undue.

How to make the plight of this animal?
Load limits
Create a routine for your dog.Place the food on the correct times, do not allow ad libitum feeding. Teach him to urinate and defecate in the right place.
Compliments / Punishment: the gift of praise and success stories. Punishment only voice strong or spray water on his face. This is only valid for the punishment made when "H". If done later, is very harmful. Always keep your word, and please do not punish later.
Be strong, do not feel guilty about leaving your pet home alone, he should get used to the routine of home and not home with his routine.
He will bark too much ...
What really bothers bark and dogs are so smart they know that the owner make the bark. So be smarter than him, ignore the barking. He, seeing that he gets what he wants, will not be encouraged and gradually cease to bark.
Do not party to the animal when you get home
This is the most difficult in this process, but we must make the effort not to provoke the behavior of anxious waiting.Therefore, we do love the animal only after the euphoria he had spent, between home, outfit, go to the bedroom or bathroom. Only after he makes love is calm, talk to him.
A good exercise to reduce the expected behavior:
Say "I'll be back" and leave. If absent for 5 minutes. Come back, ignore the animal until it is calm and quiet, then make love. After 30 minutes ...
Say "I'll be back" and leave. If absent for 10 minutes. Come back, ignore the animal until it is calm and quiet, then give a care. After 1 hour ...
Say "I'll be back" and leave. If absent for 30 minutes. Come back, ignore the animal until it is calm and quiet, then give a care. After 2 hours ...
Say "I'll be back" and leave. If absent for 2 hours. Come back, ignore the animal until it is calm and quiet, then give a care.
Repeat these exercises for 5 consecutive days and then increase the space of time until the required time so that it is just and well balanced.

When you leave: leave their animal with a shirt used to the sound of a radio with a light on in the house. Let also different toys or bones for him to get distracted.

Take time for you: an enjoyable time, so they feel that, despite the changes, remains much loved. How about
two trips per day? It may be only 20 per minute.

Most importantly, do not forget to give the "Bach Flower". It will cause the animal to go through this whole process of a peaceful manner, without trauma and without stress.

The dog will learn to stay quietly at home, without depending on the figure of the HIS GUARDIAN. But the basics can not be forgotten: do NOT get the little party at home, because it stimulates the expected behavior of the animal all day. After the dog to calm down, do a kindness, but nothing exaggerated. Remember: everything is for his own good. Dogs have no concept of time, so do not feel guilty leaving him alone FOR WHILE.
If your pet is angry at being left alone,have another very different situation and can even fit into the framework of dominant dogs.
Treatment with Bach in the dog may need to be accompanied by treatment of the owner, to reduce anxiety, impatience and even feel guilty for thinking that the animal is suffering.
