DON'T BREED OR BUY PETS SAVE LIFE ADOPT!

Don't buy a dog. Save a life and adopt a dog! by Jerry O'Connell

Dogs have always been a huge part of my life. The joy a pet brings to a household is something I have grown up enjoying. I truly love being a pet owner. Because of my love of dogs, it is beyond me why people feel the need to buy a pet. What is so wrong with adopting a dog instead? The dogs I have adopted over the years have been the most lovable, personable, charming, warm, and affectionate pets. Why are people hesitant to adopt a dog when you can save ones' life for free? I have found that there really is no excuse. It is so easy to look online and find a pet adoption shelter nearby and most pet stores have pet adoption days at least one a month! For more information on how to find a shelter near you go to www. petfinder.com. Also, I am very impressed with Much Love Animal Rescue and highly recommend their services to anyone in the Los Angeles area looking to adopt!

Spay and Neutering will reduce the 12 million euthanized each year! by Rachael Harris

No longer can animal shelters take in all the dogs that they receive. Nor can pounds, shelters and temporary foster owners.   Innocent dogs are being put down to make room for the constant flow of the future dogs to come. Pounds are over-crowded and volunteer rescue groups cannot place as many dogs as needed to prevent the process. Shelters and pounds will never be able to stop people from buying dogs and promoting large scale animal breeding, but they can offer other alternatives. For starters, spay and neuter your pets! This could be a big influence on the vastly growing dog population. If everyone spayed and neutered their pets we could start finding homes for homeless dogs. This way our pounds and shelters will not be over-populated and we would not need to needlessly put down as many dogs as we do each year. So if everyone can do their part by spay and neutering their dogs, we can see a real solution to this growing problem.
